Middlesex Swimmers Shine at 2025 County Team Championship
Middlesex swimmers were out in force at the 2025 County Team Championships in Sheffield, helping Middlesex secure an impressive 6th place overall – the County’s best result in several years.
The squad, made up of swimmers, coaches, officials and team managers, travelled north on Saturday morning, stopping at Loughborough University for a short land and pool training session before continuing to Sheffield. Team-building activities and a team dinner set the tone for a united, motivated group ready to race.
Sunday’s competition at Ponds Forge was loud, fast, and full of energy. Middlesex swimmers delivered outstanding performances across the board, with a string of personal bests and strong relay results.
A particular highlight came from Ealing’s Mihailo Vuckovic, who recorded an impressive 100m freestyle PB of 56.82 seconds and a standout relay split that earned him Top Male Swim of the Meet.
The Girls 12/13 Medley Relay stormed to victory, taking first place in dominant style, while Rin Mayo was recognised for her excellent individual and relay swims.
Congratulations also go to John Slater, Nathan Joseph, and Chloe Thomas for leading the team, and to officials Nik Takev and Rachael Dennis for their support throughout the weekend.
The team returned home tired but proud after a successful and enjoyable weekend of racing — a great reflection of the hard work and team spirit that define Middlesex County
