Autumn House Champs 2025

Leah Pullen

Last Sunday, November 16th, we proudly held our first-ever House Championship featuring the combined talents of Acton, St Helens, and Northolt. Bringing our houses together made it possible to deliver a truly thrilling competition, and we were delighted to see so many swimmers aged 8 to 18 push for personal bests, show great sportsmanship, and represent their squads with pride and energy.

Coordinating a meet of this scale required commitment and teamwork. Special thanks go first to Sammy and Tom, the Head Coaches of Acton and St Helens, whose leadership and guidance were central to the success of the day. We are also grateful to all staff and coaches who contributed to the swimmers’ development throughout the season—whether present on the day or supporting progress leading up to it. A note of appreciation as well to the Meet Manager for overseeing the operational side of the event.

All teams performed admirably, and after a series of exciting races, Acton came out on top, with Northolt securing second place and St Helens finishing third. The energy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie on display made the competition a pleasure to watch.

Looking ahead, our next event will be the ESC XMAS County Qualifiers, which take place on November 29th and 30th. This optional gala is a wonderful opportunity for swimmers to chase new personal bests and enjoy more racing with friends. We hope to build on this year’s success and aim to make the House Championship a licensed meet next year.

We look forward to seeing many of you on poolside for another fantastic weekend of swimming.
